ZF Steering Systems GmbH (ZFLS) is a 50:50 Joint Venture by Robert Bosch GmbH and ZF Friedrichshafen AG. The company was founded on 1st January 1999. ZF Steering Systems develops, produces, and sells steering technology for passenger cars and commercial vehicles. The product range consists of both complete steering systems, including steering columns and steering pumps, as well as components such as valves, outer ball joints, and steering shafts. ZF Steering Systems is a leader in technology and innovation in the steering gear field, and thus an important partner for automotive manufacturers worldwide.
The company headquarters are located in Schwäbisch Gmünd. Apart from further domestic plants in Berlin und Bietigheim and the ZF Lenksysteme Nacam GmbH subsidiary in Bremen, ZFLS is present in 12 other locations in eight different foreign countries. The geographic focus is centred on Europe, North and South America, and Asia.

Sona Koyo Steering Systems Limited (SKSSL) the flagship company of The Sona Group, is currently the largest manufacturer of steering systems for the passenger car and utility vehicle market in India. Its collaborator and partner, JTEKT Corporation, is the market leader in Japan and in the recent past announced a merger with Toyota Machine Works. Post this merger, JTEKT will become the world's largest steering systems manufacturer. The company also has a technical collaboration with Mando Corporation, Korea.
